I have started a book. The first time I tried a week ago, it was with a different idea, and it sent me into a mental break own because I had hashed out that story so many times… I like the one I’m working on now; however, on a superficial level the plot isn’t very original. I’m afraid that when I tell people it’s about a boy learning how to become a wizard… they might think of Harry Potter. But the time spent learning in the Tower is minimal, it’s mostly about Gastreel’s different adventures. We’ll see… I’m doing it for fun, right now, I promise myself, and will only worry about agents or publishers until I type the word “The End.”

November 25, 2008Finished the sequel
November 22, 2008I finished a sequel to the City on the Rock. This time a traitor has taken control of Baradon and Salan, with his friend Quinter, is banished. It’s called the Ride of the Centaur and I just fired it off to Mindflights. My beta readers said that it is better than the first–we’ll see if Selena Thomason agrees
The rewrite request
November 6, 2008The submissions editor over at Abandoned Towers just passed it up to the editorial team, but it might take a month. The story is about a knight and is set in a WAY different part of the world than City on the Rock (I mean hundreds, maybe thousands of miles) so it might be unrecognizable. I’m pleased with it though so I am optimistic. We shall see whether my optimism is justified.
